If anyone's interested in conducting research into psychic abilities then let me know, either privately or on here. I have a number of ideas for online experiments that could be done as a group.
I'm interested...
One of the ideas I had is to agree on a certain time, at which one person thinks of an object, and the others try and imagine what it is. This is something really basic, but it's all about practice.

that is much harder than it seems, it's like telepathy to an extent.
It can be quite difficult, yes. The important thing is to keep doing it, and not to be disheartened my initial failures.
In other words, if you guess often enough you might actually get it right one time, so you can go out and claim to be a psychic, brilliant plan.
No, that's not what I meant at all. With practice it gets easier. So as time goes on, the number of hits will increase.
so its guesswork then? jus very honed?
The thing about guesswork is that it can be converted into a genuine psychic ability. If you keep practicing then the guesses gradually become more accurate. This is a far easier way of doing it than trying to force it to come.
but it seems as if you are trying to force it to come by continued guesswork. I don't understand how that would enable you to be a psychic. Its like saying "here's an instrument. practice it until you get better. there has to be some ability there to begin with, or else you are just going to be a mimick. In other words, there has to be some innate talent there to begin with.
It must be difficult when the person conducting the experiment clearly lacks tallent to begin with?
by the way, any idiot can continue to guess, of course you may get a "hit" as you call it.

You seem to be deliberately missing the point. Say, for example, the experiment is conducted daily, or weekly, or whatever. A person's first guesses will be just that, but as time goes on, their guesses will become more accurate. I've seen it happen. And if you wish to remain a sceptic, wildbrew, please do so. This is not an exercise in convincing sceptics, it's an exercise in developing psychic abilities.
Supposedly by developing psychic abilities you would convince skeptics.
I'll offer to be an experiment, I'll think of an object a at a certain time of day, I'll wite down the time and the object in a file before I think of it, then think of it really hard for 10 or 20 minutes. One of you psychic peopleout there then can send me a guess what I am thinking every day and I can give you a score after 30 days and also a trend to see if you got more right as you went along or it was totally random, I have the statistics tests to show that, no problem.
So, here's your chance to convince me and develop your abilities, if you need me to be logged in, in a certain position or you need to sniff my dirty t shirt just let me know.

Thank you for offering your services. 30 days probably isn't a good baseline though. When we've got enough people interested, we can agree on a time of day, etc.
Sure, I'm curious if people are willing to take the challenge, you can decide on optimal number of days, time between days and instruct me what I have to do. I'll document everything beforehand and I can tell you how it went.

Wb, I think this holks of an experiment will simply point out that psychics do not exist. Furthermore, how can one "develop psychic abilities?" You either have it or don't? Though I am forever a skeptic.

what is the point of developping this guesswork? What would you do with it afterword? Thinking of objects or things, and then making sure you guess correctly... I don't understand what use this ability would have. You aren't developping telepathy, which I know is quite useful, or some telekenetic ability, which again, has its uses.

What starts out as guesswork becomes telepathy with practice, so that's exactly what we would be developing.
no. you clearly say that you're just communicating with someone's thoughts of an object. you aren't being active about it it. Sure, you can guess what they are thinking, but then what? telepathy is about two-way communication, not just a bunch of drones thinking about the same thing. Confirmation is one thing, but communicating actively while the object is being thought about is by far another. If I am thinking of a ball for example, and you guess that I am thinking of that object, your guesswork or real ability should enable you to ask me questions about it at the time, so we engage in a two-way conversation. I feel like there is a lot of vaguery going on, kind of like today's new age section in the bookstore.
This is precisely the point I was making above. You're right in saying that telepathy is more than just identifying an object that someone is thinking about, but the point of this exercise is to develop this ability by means of practice. In other words, starting at the most basic level. Once that has been achieved, we then move onto more interactive, two-way communication.

i've only had telepathic stuff happen during that phase between being half-awake and completely asleep. I swear, during that time someone who I was just talking to on Skype that night, had asked me if I was okay, using telepathy. it creeped me out, and I was just about to reply yes, when I woke up abruptly and the connection was broken. Grrrrr, I was irritated. lol
for the record, this reminds me a lot of onyx investigations, another such group begun in the days of hotbraille by one Tony steele. I was a member, as were three others. (all of us female) Nothing ever came of it however, so I guess it was his attempt at trying again? All those lovely blind girls eh?

SisterDawn, prior to this disabled account, the user's previous username appears to have been Bod. At least one zoner has attempted to get him banned but, like pirate radio stations, he keeps coming back, apparently by means of a proxy server.
The topic of duplicate and multiple accounts has been raised on another thread, but unless the signing-up rules are changed, it seems beyond the control of this site's modus operandi.
We know how this guy works, and are staying on top of them, as best we can, given that he is using a proxy server. I'm just being a smart-ass in post 33.
Sister Dawn, he's dangerous, and a proxie server is not even the tip of the iceberg.
I have evidence from two unrelated sources that what Tear Drop has just said to be correct, or at least, have no reason to disbelieve it.

I do believe you guys. As I say, we know it, and are doing what we are able to, from our vantage point as CL's, with the help of the rest of you.
I am guilty of using proxies and therefore deserve to be banned. I am also guilty of arguing with people who fuck me over, and always give as good as I get. But I am *not* guilty of threatening behaviour or any of the other libellous crap that has been spread about me. In other words, don't believe everything you hear - it may just be people covering their own asses by trying to discredit me. As for Onyx Investigations, it had more than just blind people in it, and was a genuine attempt to investigate the paranormal - it fell through for lack of co-ordination on my part, more than anything. the skype ID he had for Alex was fake, as was the MSN info. profile was filled out though, but is conveniently gone now. So, if anyone added these IDS, they would be going through TOny, instead of Alex. I guess he intended to impersonate her to get them interested. He also posted pictures that were given to him in trust. A real winner. You're right, Tear Drop, he's dangerous.
He also uses photo shop to enhance the pics he is given to suit his desires.

Guessing is not psychic ability, no matter how much you want it to be. Maybe your good at guessing, maybe not. Psychic ability is the ability to know before hand, not come to the conclusion by guessing at it.

Star_jasmine, you know very well, since both you and Alex looked at it (and so did Doug V) that there was nothing on that webpage - it was completely empty. It was a ruse, you see, in order for me to find out your IP address, so that I could complain to your service provider about what amounts to a long-running Internet scam that you and Alex have been pulling - though in fact, I didn't bother doing so in the end. However, if you're going to criticise me for even pretending to put up private info, you might like to note what Alex wrote to me on December 11 last year, in reference to some very personal matters I had shared with her:
"Believe me, these documents are being circulated freely among anyone who needs to know, and this isn't merely by way of her friends via the net."
At the time Alex wrote the above I was still under the impression that she was a different person to the Angela Fisher I had known since 2002, and with whom I had been in a relationship since 2004. Star_jasmine, as you know, Angie had been communicating with me as two different people, namely herself and "Alex", for nearly two years, and it was only in February this year that I found out that Alex was Angie all along. At the same time as I discovered her identity as Alex, I also found out she had been cheating on me with numerous others more or less from the start of our relationship, and that her supposed cousin Sarah who lives with her is actually none other than yourself, star_jasmine (Kim Harbroe), her partner who had allegedly moved back to Canada in 2004. Can you possibly understand why I might have been a tad annoyed? As for the scam, it consisted of this - every time Christmas or Angie's birthday was coming up you would write to me, supposedly independently, and suggest something big and expensive. And you pulled very similar tricks on the other people Angie was dating, too. And every time I tried to phone her you would talk to me pretending to be "Sarah", claiming that Angie was never there. And yes, I accept what Angie said in her "defence" (if that's the right word), that I probably have no recourse to a court of law. But morally speaking what you and she did is despicable, and you know it - and it went on for years and years.
Star_jasmine, I have been accused, by Angie and yourself, of abusing blind women, but this is not true. If someone fucks me over I argue with them and always speak my mind, and this applies to anyone, blind or sighted - I do not discriminate. However, Angie herself, by her own admission, is guilty of precisely what she has accused me of - namely, abusing blind women. In e-mails that I still have, she has described how she would seek out vulnerable and lonely women on the Zone, and enter into a relationship with them simply in order to fuck with their heads. One such woman happens to be a good friend of mine, something Angie didn't realise at the time (though she had the gall to tell me about it as it was happening, but pretended it was her cousin "Sarah" who was having the relationship), and it was only when I eventually spoke to this woman and found out the truth that Angie's activities over all those years finally began coming to light. In short, Angie, or Alex as she's known as here, is a classic sociopath and a pathological liar - and you, star_jasmine, are nothing but her pathetic sidekick, whom she treats like shit anyway. What makes her do these things, and treat other people's emotions as existing solely for her own amusement? I have asked her this question so many times over the last few months, and honestly would have forgiven her had she provided an answer, but she simply hasn't got one. All I have ever received from her have been lies, lies and more lies.
If anyone finds this difficult to believe, I don't blame them - like all true sociopaths, Angie can be very convincing. I can provide proof of everything I've said, and far more besides, in the form of e-mails Angie sent me admitting it all, and to leading me and all the others on - something she was still doing as recently as March, when she wrote the poem I reproduced during our public argument a few weeks ago, that she later admitted was a lie.
